Finland's Fennovoima has submitted a supplement to its application for a construction licence for the Hanhikivi-1 nuclear power plant relating to radioactive waste management.

The document was delivered to the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment as part of the environmental impact assessment process.

Fennovoima said the EIA process is expected to last until the 2040s, which is why the ministry wants to monitor the process by receiving regular updates from the company.

The document which was delivered is the first of its kind and includes the most up-to-date plans and details about cooperation with Posiva Solutions Ltd.
